Letting go can be hard. That’s what I found when Becki asked if she could make Abi’s birthday cake. Something in me wanted to say ‘no!’- after all, making the birthday cake has always been my domain.
But isn’t this exactly the sort of request we should be encouraging? Don’t we want our children to grow and flourish and learn to do what we have always done for them?
So Becki made the cake, and I got to enjoy the result.
